The best experience in our lives ! We recomend. Cowboy Antonio is an experient man and gives confiança all the time. We will do this route agin next time.Publicado en Kelly GMayo 29, 2025Verificada Surpassed all expectations! One of the best things we’ve ever done on holiday. Over the day, we trekked 32km with the mules, through tiny whitewashed villages, snaking through farms, traversing the Sierra Nevada mountains and the winding through the canyon creek. My husband and I are inexperienced riders and our girls, only 10, but the mules are so capable and expertly trained that we did things we didn’t think possible. Broken by a lovely, relaxed lunch, Antonio and Susann made us feel completely relaxed and in control. We thought it was going to be good but it was even better than we imagined. Be prepared for two things the next day: a bad back and your children asking when they can do it again!Publicado en Jean-Philippe SMayo 5, 2025Verificada Trust your mules! (Trust your mules!) My daughter and I trusted Equi-Libre to schedule us a two-day, all-inclusive hike, well took some!Initially reluctant to ride mules rather than horses, we realized the value of this: A mule (which is not a donkey!), it is in the mountains more powerful, faster, safer too. More accessible especially when you're not a super rider (level. Galop 2). It trots and gallops, there's everything here: beauty, sensations. Antonio is a real vacquero. Not a Hollywood cowboy, not a tourist escort in disguise, no, a cow and sheep herder you will accompany in his passion for the mountains, his animals, his encounters. He is accompanied by Susann, equestrian accompanist and mediator at all times. The contact upstream is nice, we work out all the details together. Upon arrival, we are offered to meet the animals to familiarize ourselves with our fellow travellers. And it's off to a great moment of happiness.Susann and Antonio's welcome "like home" is not fake. They make you feel comfortable, like you're part of the family. But on top of that, the comfort is more upscale than one could imagine. Comfortable beds (to rest after 6 to 8 hours of hiking, it's pretty cool!), exceptional traditional meals prepared by Antonio's mom Carmen, who is a chef. I think the 1/2 day or 1 day formula is suitable for beginners. For longer rutas (from 2 to 6 days!), it seems to us that an equestrian experience is necessary or at least a good physical condition (ascents and descents can be stressful and stressful for the back).Once on the road, it's the explosion of colors, landscapes, laughter, beauty, intense and so authentic moments of adventure! The traditional baskets that carry our equipment are more than 100 years old; We diverted to accompany Antonio to bring his cows from one meadow to another and followed his work with his dogs; We picnicked by a thousand-year-old chestnut tree or an enchanting stream; Sleeping in a finca at 2,000m altitude. Heard Susann tell us regularly: "Trust your mules!". It's total let-up. A hike with Equi-Libre may at first seem "cheap". But I want you to know that's OK. Often, Cheap rhymes with poor quality. Here, we are at the right price, but the Equi-Libre experience has no price. She's just EXTRAORDINARY.Publicado en niina kFebrero 7, 2025Verificada Wonderful! One time life experience. Alpujarra Trek
90 EUR*/person
We set out from Picena for a half-day horseback ride in the Alpujarra, a guided 4 to 5-hour excursion ideal for discovering one of the most authentic landscapes in southern Spain. Along the way, we ride through the white villages of the Alpujarra, with steep flower-filled streets, traditional irrigation channels, and crystal-clear mountain springs that shape the natural environment of the Sierra.
During the ride, depending on the route and the pace of the group, we may stop to enjoy traditional Andalusian tapas at a cozy village bar, or share a picnic in the heart of the Sierra, surrounded by a peaceful natural setting and always accompanied by our mules and horses.

Along the way, we cross ravines and streams and ride to iconic places such as the ancient chestnut tree near Laroles, following trails that reveal truly remarkable natural wonders.
Each season transforms the mountain and gives it a unique character: in the cooler months, the scenery is crisp and dramatic; on warmer days, the air is pure, light, and refreshingly cool. Sierra Nevada Trek
810 EUR*/person
This three-day horseback route in Sierra Nevada begins in Picena, at around 600 meters above sea level, and gradually leads us into the heart of the Natural Park. Throughout this horseback journey through Sierra Nevada, we enjoy spectacular views that, on clear days, stretch from the Mediterranean Sea all the way to the Atlas Mountains in Africa.
During the route, we are accompanied by our dogs and a pack mule, which carries the equipment following the ancestral traditions of these mountains. Along the way, we encounter ibex, cattle, and other animals that roam freely across the Sierra, offering a glimpse into the wild and well-preserved character of the landscape. During the journey, we enjoy a special lunch, either immersed in nature or at a charming local bar.
We stay overnight in a rustic mountain refuge and at a Buddhist Retreat Center located at approximately 2,000 meters of altitude, where we can enjoy hot showers, comfortable beds, and, for those who wish, access to a yoga and meditation room—a perfect space for rest, calm, and renewal after each day on horseback.

Ruta Cowboy
1.300 EUR*/person
This five-day adventure fully immerses you in the authentic work of high-mountain cattle herding, alongside Antonio, the ultimate cowboy of Sierra Nevada.
Traveling on horseback and muleback, we venture into the Sierra Nevada, riding along ancient mountain paths. We pass by the ancient chestnut tree before reaching a traditional mountain cortijo-refuge located at around 1,600 meters of altitude, where we spend the night surrounded by silence and nature.
The journey flows freely through the mountains, led by the natural rhythm of the cattle, which graze freely across more than 9,000 hectares of mountain terrain. With the help of our horses, mules, and dogs, we gather and guide the herd to a high-mountain corral hidden among the forests, experiencing first-hand the daily rhythm of traditional livestock work.
During part of the route, we stay at a Buddhist Retreat Center situated at approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, where we enjoy traditional homemade meals, comfortable beds, and hot showers, and—if desired—access to the yoga and meditation room. At this altitude, the nights reward us with spectacular star-filled skies.
The adventure concludes with our return to the village and to Villa El Largo, where a small celebration awaits—music, wine, and good food—the perfect moment to share stories from the journey and reflect on the work accomplished together.
