SAFETY RULES AT EQUI-LIBRE SIERRA NEVADA
Before starting any route, it is mandatory to read and accept the safety rules for Equi-Libre equestrian routes:
Wear comfortable clothing, including long trousers and mountain boots or riding boots.
Wear a helmet and safety vest, which we provide, or your own equipment. The equipment used during the routes is of high quality and is checked before and after each activity.
If the client does not wish to wear a helmet for the contracted activity, they must state this in writing, accepting the responsibility arising from this decision.
Listen carefully to the instructor’s instructions, Antonio, before mounting and follow his guidance during the routes.
Antonio will decide in each case, based on the experience information provided by the client, which horse or mule is most suitable and safe for each specific route. He may also decide if a person is not fit to participate in the activity.
During all routes, respectful behavior toward other participants, animals, and the natural environment is required.
The company warns of possible changes to the routes or complete cancellation due to weather conditions that may endanger the safety of people and animals.
All persons in good physical and mental condition may participate, with no age limit. Young children from 3 years old may ride with the instructor or their parents. Until the age of 18, minors must always be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
The routes are divided into four categories depending on the clients’ experience level, with increasing levels of risk:
Tourist route, carried out on rural paths and trails and possibly passing through villages of the Alpujarra. Medium risk. Duration: 3 to 6 hours.
Route through canyons and hills following rural trails, such as the ancient chestnut tree route near the village of Jubar. This route requires moderate experience and involves medium risk. Duration: approximately 6 hours with picnic.
Mountain route, mainly in summer, along forest tracks. Also medium risk and some riding experience is recommended. Duration: 1 to 3 days.
Cowboy route, high in the Sierra, driving cattle through ravines and mountain peaks. Good riding experience with horses or mules is required. For experts only, as it involves a high degree of risk.
For all these routes, the instructor Antonio, always accompanied by an assistant instructor, may guide a maximum of 8 participants per route.
Finally, it is stated that Antonio Yebra, as the person responsible for Equi-Libre Sierra Nevada, holds civil liability and accident insurance covering any incidents that may occur during the activity.
